Milestones

February (and the first week of March) held adoption journey milestones for the Ross family!

On February 6th we had our final home study meeting with our social worker and then patiently (well, maybe not so patiently) waited for the final pieces to fall into place so that our home study could be finalized, notarized, and sent to us for use with our next steps.

February 12th was Little Ross #2's second birthday!  It was a small celebration (Randy, Zeke and I), but we wanted to make sure to honor the little one who is going to become the fourth member of our family.  We also want to create as many opportunities as possible to help Zeke process and understand what it means to have a little brother (or "little boy" as he calls him).  He was given the task of singing Happy Birthday and blowing out the candles. He was very excited about these responsibilities (but probably more excited about the fact that he got to eat a "special treat").

It's DONE!  On March 6th we received our completed notarized home study (two weeks later than anticipated) and immediately sent one copy to USCIS with all of the paperwork they require in order to deem us "suitable" adoptive parents. I think I had the home study for an hour after Randy picked it up from our social worker and then I was off to the FedEx store to get our packet of paperwork sent.  For those of you who know me well, yes, I had our stack of required documents ready and waiting prior to our home study being approved. It's all about keeping the paperwork moving! :)  Now we wait 1.5 to 2 months for USCIS approval.

As we continue moving forward and passing more milestones we will keep you posted through Facebook and blog posts.

Thank you for your continued prayers!
Randy, Robyn, Zeke & #2

P.S.  Thank you SO MUCH to those who have donated toward our adoption.  The generosity of others has covered our home study fees ($1800) and USCIS fees ($890) and we still have a few hundred dollars left for our next round of fees (document certification and authentication).  Please see the second blog post for information on how you can help us with our adoption costs or send me an email/Facebook message if you would like more information.
